The Berwyn Township 708 Community Mental Health Board’s Mission is as follows:

The Mission of the Berwyn Township 708 Community Mental Health Board is to enhance through coordination, evaluation, planning and funding a comprehensive community-based system of mental health, developmental disabilities and substance abuse services for people who reside in Berwyn Township.

The Guiding Principles provided the basis for the design of the planning process and the resultant goals, and activities of this One and Three Year Plan.

The Berwyn Township Community Mental Health (708) Board’s Guiding Principles are as follows:

The Board promotes a full range of coordinated mental health services based on assessment of needs to make a positive difference in the mental health of the people who reside in Berwyn Township.

The Board is committed to fostering and maintaining a high level of quality in treatment services for Berwyn Township residents.

The Board desires to assure that the highest standards are maintained for the delivery of all services and programs.

The Board believes that Berwyn Township consumers of mental health services are central to all aspects of service delivery.

The Board expects that service delivery will focus on client needs rather than program needs.

The Board as steward of Berwyn Township's mental health tax funds is committed to sound fiscal management and expects sound fiscal management in organizations that receive Board funding.

The Board emphasizes and facilitates intergovernmental and interagency collaboration, cooperation and networking.

The Board is committed to providing leadership of a coordinated mental health service system with ongoing communications among funders, service providers, advocates, recipients and residents.

The Board recognizes that to fulfill its planning mandate, partnership and collaboration with other organizations is essential.
